Spring '07...so far

Pic to the right: me & my dance concert girls! (minus 1)

Spring classes:

CIS 217~ thankfully, this class is almost done.  We're in power point now which means not much effort from me because I play with power point ALL the time.

Europe During the Renaissance & Reformation~ MY PAPER IS DONE!!!  woo!  I had more information for this paper than I thought I did so it turned out to be like 7 1/2 pages long.  yay!

France 1715-1914~ so a week and a half before the paper is due...I decide to change my topic.  Oh well.  It'll get done and I get to write about a war so it's all good

Vietnam War~ I have learned SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much in this class.  I wish it didn't have to end.  I don't think I'll be the same after the two classes I've taken with Dr. Todd this year...and that's a good thing.

Koinonia~ The dance concert was great.  We had quite a few alumni come up for Saturday nights show which was very encouraging.  I can't wait to see the DVD!  The worship team just got back from playing at the youth retreat at Cherry Run...but I'll get to that laterInnocent  One more leftFrown

LEV~ Gospel fest was good.  The choir from IUP-Punxy was...wow!  We're having a dinner next Sunday at Brenda's as an end of the year celebration.  I hope there's nice weather so we can party outside.

Song of the Update

I dreamed I went to heaven
And you were there with me
We walked upon the streets of gold
Beside the crystal sea
We heard the angels singing
Then someone called your name.
We turned and saw a young man
He was smiling as he came

And he said, "Friend you may not know me now,"
Then he said, "But wait,
You used to teach my Sunday school
When I was only 8.
And every week you would say a prayer
Before the class would start.
And one day when you said that prayer,
I asked Jesus in my heart."

*chorus*
Thank you for giving to the Lord
I am a life that was changed
Thank you for giving to the Lord
I am so glad you gave

Then another man stood before you
And said, "Remember the time
A missionary came to your church
And his pictures made you cry
You didn't have much money
But you gave it anyway
Jesus took the gift you gave
And that's why I'm here today"
(chorus)

One by one they came
Far as the eye could see
Each life somehow touched
By your generosity
Little things that you had done
Sacrifices made
Unnoticed on the earth
In heaven, now proclaimed

I know up in heaven
You're not supposed to cry
But I am almost sure
There were tears in your eyes
As Jesus took your hand
And you stood before the Lord
He said, "My child look around you
Great is your reward."
(chorus 2x)

The band and the retreat

So I started off the semester taking a break from singing until I felt like I had classes and the dance concert under control.  There was one point at which I didn't know if I would rejoin the team, but I did.  And I'm very glad that I did.

These past couple months have allowed me to get to know Theresa better and have allowed me to make some memories that, I hope, I'll keep forever.

This past weekend we played at a youth retreat at Cherry Run.  The last time we played there was two years ago and it was such a good time, both in fun and in worship.  And last time, I had to leave after Saturday night because my presence was requested elsewhere on Sunday morning.  This year, I got to stay the entire time, we had everyone there and Greg came back for Saturday night and Sunday morning.  In simple words we had a great time.  In other words, it's been awhile since I felt God's presence in a place that strong.  There was some REAL worship going on during this retreat.  The speaker for the weekend did a really good job and in the words of the great Brenda Dede, he definately stepped on my toes.  God is good.
